Brian Bednar, Founder & CEO
Brian is seasoned entrepreneur, investor and executive recognized as a culture builder, innovator and developer of strategic partnerships with large counterparties. After an early career in agri-business and real estate, Brian founded utility scale solar development pioneer Birdseye Renewable Energy.
In May 2021, he sold the company to leading US utility, Dominion Energy where he continued as the leader of its non-regulated solar business. In 2024, Brian helped lead Dominion’s sale the platform to AES. After successfully integrating the business, he departed AES to return to his entrepreneurial roots working with energy transition companies.
Brian is an early-stage investor in energy transition companies and in April 2025, he joined Finnish producer of low-carbon hydrogen and high-quality carbon, Hycamite as its contract Market Lead USA where he leads Hycamite’s US hydrogen and carbon business.He earned his undergraduate degree in business from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
