Meet our Founder

Brian is seasoned entrepreneur, investor and executive recognized as a culture builder, innovator and developer of strategic partnerships with large counterparties. After an early career in agri-business and real estate, Brian founded utility scale solar development pioneer Birdseye Renewable Energy.
Birdseye's green field development activities have resulted in approximately 1.2GW of operating solar assets.
In May 2021, he sold the company to leading US utility, Dominion Energy. Brian continued as the leader of Dominion's non-regulated solar business. In 2024, Brian helped lead Dominion’s sale of the platform to AES. After successfully integrating the business, he departed AES to return to his entrepreneurial roots working with energy transition companies.

Brian has successfully developed numerous partnerships with international partners. In 2025, Brian supported Finnish producer of low-carbon hydrogen and high-quality carbon, Hycamite as its Market Lead USA where he leveraged his entrepreneurial expertise, energy experience and partnering track record to advance Hycamite’s US hydrogen and carbon business.

Beginning in January 2026, Brian decided to return to his development roots and focus on energy transition and emerging technology projects for utility and C&I customers. Brian is currently leading development on a group of unique, large-scale energy projects through his successor company, HighCraft Energy.

Brian and his family reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to his HighCraft duties, Brian is an early-stage investor in a portfolio of innovative, low carbon energy companies and serves as the Chairman of the UNC- Chapel Hill Board of Visitors for the Institute of the Environment. He earned his undergraduate degree in business from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
